So this is my first Blog post and I thought I'd keep it short and sweet. Today while I walked home from the subway I was run off the sidewalk by a family of 4. Since moving to NYC it has continued to defy my imagination how people here can be so oblivious to others. I was walking towards them, they were taking up the entire sidewalk, and had I not jumped into the street at the last minute I would have collided (and possibly done bodily harm) to an 11 year old. Would that family have been ok with running straight into me? I think I need to test this hypothesis. I will report back. I can't guarantee the safety of the "participants" in my study as people of all ages, strengths and sizes seem to partake in this daily game of chicken. I can't wait to see their face when I don't move out of the way. We will collide!
